Periodic Safety Inspection of Electrical Installations
Pursuant to the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations, owners of electrical installations shall arrange periodic inspection, testing, and certification of their systems. Non-compliance not only subjects offenders to prosecution but may also result in fire hazards and electrical failures, endangering public safety.
Inspection requirements:
- Scope of Inspection:Fixed electrical installations in residential or commercial premises with an approved loading exceeding 100 amperes shall undergo inspection, testing, and certification at minimum five-year intervals.
- Regulatory Basis:Mandated under relevant provisions of the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations.
- Safety Objective:Prevention of fire incidents and electrical system failures to ensure public safety protection.
